Letter from Region Governor
The Great Lakes Region auditions will be held at Western University in London, Ontario on Saturday March 2, 2024. Categories/classes will be offered in Classical Voice, Commercial Music and Musical Theatre from Youth – Adults as well as the Hall Johnson Spiritual class/category. Please see attached for information regarding classes/categories.
Registration will open via Auditionware on January 15th and will close on February 15th. You will need to go to www.auditionware.com to enter your student’s information.
Students will provide and present to the judges their adjudication sheet on the day of the auditions. Teachers are responsible to provide each of their students with the three (3) adjudication sheets which can be printed from Auditionware under “View My Schedule/Adjudication Schedule: Print My Participants Judging Forms”
Due to time and scheduling, the allotted performance times for Categories/Classes are being adjusted for these auditions:
Youth 6 minutes
High School 8 minutes
Lower College 8 minutes
Upper College/Adult 10 minutes
Advanced 12 minutes
Once the allotted time has been reached the singer will be stopped and will not be penalized! It is understood that a singer may not get to complete all their repertory.
Singers will choose the performance order of their pieces.
Timing starts when the piano begins the first piece and continues until the allotted time has been reached.
All fees are listed in USD. When you complete your registration and check out the total amount you owe will be converted and listed in your currency.
Teacher registration fee – $40
Youth – High School classes/categories – $25 per event
University – Adult classes/categories – $30 per event
Substitute judge fee (if you are unable to attend) – $75
Staff/Official Accompanist fee $40 – up to 3 songs; $50 – 4 or more songs
The $75 entry fee listed on the website under NSA information is for those students who are recommended to proceed to the video audition round. The top 5 singers who place in each class/category will be recommended to proceed to the video audition round. Information will be sent out following the region auditions to those singers and their teachers.

8:00 a.m. Rehearsals with staff/official accompanists begin
8:15 a.m. Judges meeting
9:00 a.m. Auditions/Classes begin
4:00 p.m. Auditions/Classes end
4:30 p.m. Winner’s Concert
Placements will be posted during the day and comment sheets will be available for pickup at the registration desk. Only 1st place singers in each class/category will be required to sing at the Winner’s Concert.

Each Student and Accompanist must accept and agree to Nationals copyright policy. Each Singer and Accompanist will receive and email to complete and submit once registration is completed.

The use of iPads and tablets as musical scores for collaborative pianists during all levels of NATS auditions has been approved and are held to the same standards of copyright as any other musical score used for auditions.
